Question: What is the difference between a spike top, a probe top and an open top water cooler?

Answer:

A SPIKE top bottle water cooler refers to a cooler that has a slanted spike that pierces the cap of sealed bottles of water. It can also be used for bottles that are refilled and are used without caps.

A PROBE top is a top used for bottles specifically with valve caps. Probe tops are rarely used in Australia

Question: What is a point of use water cooler?

Answer: Point-of-Use Water Coolers (or POU) are principally mains connected water coolers in the style of bottle water coolers. The main feature of these systems is that they do not require connection to a drain and are therefore very simple to install with the aid of modern plumbing fittings, such as nylon piping and "John Guest" connectors. All models are ideal for connection to most filtration systems and water is provided through the main water supply in the building. For our full range of point of use water coolers click here
